Work Not Worry

Money worries are one of the biggest causes of stress and sleepless nights, and can really impact people’s physical and mental well-being. The knock-on effect can be time off work and, in the worst-case scenario, people even losing their job.

Credit unions exist to help people sort out their finances and avoid getting into difficulty in future.

So this month CLEVR Money has joined forces with other credit unions across the country for the #WorkNotWorry campaign.

Aimed at employers, #WorkNotWorry encourages businesses to become a credit union payroll partner, to help their staff manage their money better and reduce their money worries.

It provides employees with a simple savings scheme and, crucially, access to fair and affordable credit union loans if needed, helping them avoid high-interest payday and doorstep lenders.

All this is proven to help reduce stress and subsequent absenteeism among the workforce.

And research shows credit union membership helps borrowers to become savers, bringing long term benefits for all.

Chief Executive Mike Barry said, "CLEVR Money already works with 42 payroll partners across the Fylde coast and Preston, and we’re asking them all to support this campaign by Liking and Sharing our social media posts to raise awareness and hopefully encourage other businesses follow their lead.

It’s only together that we can tackle financial exclusion and help people to deal with their money worries."
