There is help out there for people who need it, but it’s not always easy to find.
We’ve pulled together a series of guides which signpost people to the right organisations and websites to get the right support.
Are you claiming the benefits you are entitled to?
The first thing you should do is to check you’re getting the benefits you are entitled to.

Blackpool Council has a brilliant list of things you can do and organisations who can help with a range of issues, from help with energy bills to applying for the Household Support Fund.
Preston City Council has produced a similar list with info on council tax reduction and finding cheap food and free meals.
Wyre Borough Council’s directory can be found below.
And Lancashire County Council provides links to apply for the housebound support fund, and information on accessing free school meals.
It’s worth noting, a lot of the info included in these lists is universal and available to anyone anywhere.
Check out your local authority first but the other lists might also be helpful.
