Visitors to our Birley Street branch will have seen a friendly new face the front counter over the festive period. We are thrilled to welcome our new CLEVR Money apprentice, Lewis Slater, who has joined us straight from school and will be training up over the next 18 months to become a fully qualified credit union employee.

He’ll be introducing himself properly next time, but for now I just want to say a great big thank you to Lewis and the whole of the CLEVR Money team for their incredible efforts over Christmas, they really did work hard.

In November and December we approved more than 800 loans for people within our community. This equates toing excess of £530,000 lent to local people to help them through the most expensive time of the year. Each of those loans will be paid back at a fair and affordable rate, and we’ve helped many of our members sort out their finances for the long term and set up savings accounts as well.

We want to continue helping more people in Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and Preston as we head into 2020, and will be expanding our team even further. We are looking for a kind, personable, approachable person to join us as a Loans Officer. No experience is necessary - we provide on the job training - but having the right attitude towards helping people is definitely a must.
